My Approach to Journalism
Truth
As a journalist, truth is one of my core values as I pursue my work in editing and writing articles. When I begin writing an article, I seek to keep an open mind about my coverage. I believe that journalism is built on the foundation of truth. Journalists may present their stories through certain lenses, but journalism should still strive to reveal objective facts. For example, my approach to covering the 2020 election and the Trump presidency sought to understand both sides' perspectives while standing up for the truth and factual information.

Engagement
I believe that every article must engage the reader by establishing the importance of the subject, or by other means, such as visual images and thoughtful discussions. For instance, at the Bronx Times we tried to engage our readership in community-centered stories, in addition to event-driven news

Timeliness
As a journalist, I know I need to be on time. Yesterday's news is not news. We know that recent events have higher news value than earlier happenings. People in the public eye have higher news value than people who are unknown, although personal stories always count. I try to capture stories in a timely fashion, as they break.
